Rajasthan Politics: The deadlock that had been going on for the last 7 days in the Rajasthan Assembly has finally ended. The 6 suspended Congress MLAs have been reinstated. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tikaram Julie played an important role in this solution. He apologized for the abusive remarks made by Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara. Julie said that Dotasara's remarks were not in accordance with the dignity of the House and for this he apologizes without any hesitation.

Tikaram Julie said that the controversy escalated after the sarcastic remarks made by the minister on Indira Gandhi. He thanked Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who initiated the talks to end this deadlock. He also said that if this talk had happened four days ago, the opposition would neither have to sleep in the House nor sit on dharna on the streets.

Tikaram Julie, emphasizing the need for balance between the ruling and opposition parties in the House, said in a poetic style - "Bikhri-Bikhri ne tum achche lagte ho na hum."

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said on this issue that public representatives should take care of the sentiments of the public while speaking. He admitted that if inappropriate words come out of the mouth of any member, then he also feels self-reproach. Describing the role of the opposition as essential for democracy, he said that the smooth functioning of the House is the responsibility of both the ruling and the opposition. The Chief Minister urged the Assembly Speaker to remove the controversial remarks made by the minister from the proceedings of the House.

Minister Avinash Gehlot's comment at the root of the controversy

The deadlock started with the remarks made by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot. During the Question Hour, on the question related to hostels for working women, he pointed towards the opposition and said that in the budget of 2023-24 also, the opposition, as usual, had named this scheme after their grandmother Indira Gandhi. After this statement, there was a huge uproar in the House, due to which the proceedings of the House had to be adjourned several times.

Dotasara's comment escalated the controversy

After this, the comment made by Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara on Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani further deepened the controversy. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie said that the ruling party minister had made the comment, due to which 6 Congress MLAs were suspended. Congress MLAs also staged a sit-in against this decision and boycotted the House.

He said that some comments made in the House will be recorded as a stigma in history. The Assembly Speaker restored the membership of the 6 suspended MLAs after the opposition MLAs expressed regret.
