Arvind Singh Mewar / Wave of mourning in Mewar region, former royal family member Arvind Singh passes away

Arvind Singh Mewar (80), a member of the former royal family of Udaipur, passed away. He was ill for a long time and was living in Shambhu Niwas in the City Palace. He had a degree in hotel management and was the chairman of the HRH Group of Hotels. The Mewar region is mourning his death.

Arvind Singh Mewar: Arvind Singh Mewar, a member of the former royal family of Udaipur, died at the age of 80. He was ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment at Shambhu Niwas in the City Palace. His death sent a wave of mourning across the Mewar region.

Biography:

Arvind Singh Mewar was born on 13 December 1944 at the City Palace in Udaipur. He was the 76th custodian of the Mewar dynasty and the younger son of Maharana Bhagwat Singh Mewar and Sushila Kumari Mewar. His elder brother Mahendra Singh Mewar also passed away on 10 November 2024 last year.

Education and Career:

Arvind Singh Mewar completed his schooling from the prestigious Mayo College in Ajmer. He then graduated in Arts from Maharana Bhupal College in Udaipur. He went to the UK for further studies, where he obtained a degree in Hotel Management from St Albans Metropolitan College.

Early in his career, he worked for some time in the US. After returning to India, he became the Chairman and Managing Director of HRH Group of Hotels. Apart from this, he was also the Chairman of Maharana Mewar Foundation Trust, Maharana Mewar Historical Prakash Trust and Rajmata Gulab Kunwar Charitable Trust.

Heritage and contribution of Mewar:

Arvind Singh Mewar played an important role in the development of tourism and culture of Udaipur and Mewar. He is credited with preserving Udaipur's historical sites like City Palace, Jag Mandir and other heritage sites. Due to his efforts, Udaipur emerged as a major tourist destination not only in India but globally.

He organized many cultural and social programs to keep his heritage alive and worked continuously for the preservation of historical heritage. Udaipur's hotel industry and tourism sector reached new heights due to his vision and leadership.

Wave of mourning due to death:

On hearing the news of his death, a wave of mourning ran across the Mewar region. Family members, royal relatives and supporters paid tribute to him, remembering his legacy.
