Uttarakhand News: Anarchists pelted stones at the administration and police team that had gone to demolish the madrasa in Banbhulpura, Haldwani. To disperse the riots, the police had to release tear gas shells. On receiving information, police and administrative officials also reached the spot. The CM has called a high level meeting in the matter and has given orders to shoot the rioters on sight.

The Municipal Corporation team had arrived today to demolish the illegal madrasa and namaz place in Malik's garden under Banbhulpura police station area of Haldwani. It was demolished with JCB machine. A large number of Municipal Corporation teams including Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay, City Magistrate Richa Singh, SDM Paritosh Verma were present. Meanwhile, all the unruly elements living around Malik's garden have pelted stones at the police administration and journalists. Many policemen and journalists have been injured in this. The rioters suddenly started pelting stones at the police team, along with whom a large number of women and children were also involved. By the time anyone understood anything, many policemen had been injured. The miscreants also set fire to the vehicles parked here.

Orders to shoot rioters at sight

CM called a high level meeting in Haldwani case. The situation was reviewed in the meeting with the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. People are being appealed to maintain peace here. Instructions have been given to deal strictly with anarchists. DM has announced curfew in Banbhulpura area. Orders have been given to shoot the rioters on sight. To control the situation, forces from many police stations have been called and paramilitary forces have also been called. Anarchists will be identified and action will be taken under UAPA.

Firing on police with illegal weapons

DGP Abhinav Kumar said that the police and administration team had gone to Banbhulpura in Haldwani to remove encroachment. Protesting against this, anarchists pelted stones and set vehicles on fire. According to the DGP, some miscreants also fired with illegal weapons. DIG Kumaon immediately reached the spot and additional police force has also been called there. The state government has also demanded additional police force from the Home Ministry. 4 additional companies of central forces are available with us. At present, the situation is under control.

Police released tear gas shells

To control the situation, the police had to release tear gas shells. The police somehow chased away the miscreants. Forces from several police stations including SSP Nainital Prahlad Meena, Banbhulpura SO Neeraj Bhakuni, SO Mukhani, SO Pramod Pathak reached the spot and tried to control the situation. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area.

illegal construction demolished

Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay said that the construction of the madrasa was completely illegal. The Municipal Corporation had already taken possession of the three acres of land located near it. Only after that the madrasa was sealed, which has been demolished today. According to the police, the anarchists who created ruckus are being identified. He will be arrested soon.
