The dispute has now spread from Delhi to Haryana, where a heated exchange of words is going on between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini.

FIR registered against Kejriwal, politics heated up in Haryana

The Sonipat administration of Haryana has registered a case against Arvind Kejriwal for his recent statements regarding the water of the Yamuna. Kejriwal had warned that the water of the Yamuna could pose a danger to the citizens of Delhi, especially due to the adulteration of ammonia. In response, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini reacted strongly to Kejriwal's statement by drinking the water of the Yamuna and rejected it outright.

Nayab Singh Saini's attack

On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini reached the Yamuna river and publicly drank the water of the Yamuna. On this occasion, he wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that "I drank the water of Yamuna without hesitation and without hesitation." He also rejected the statement of AAP leader Atishi and said that the people of Delhi have now recognized these frauds and the end of Arvind Kejriwal's "AAP-da" government is certain on February 5.

Saini also said that the people of Delhi will not support the AAP party this time because their political stunt has now been exposed. There is a centuries-old brotherhood between Haryana and Delhi, and this time the people of Delhi will answer.

Kejriwal's counterattack: "Pretense was made"

After this, Arvind Kejriwal retaliated to Naib Singh Saini's statement and said that the Haryana Chief Minister only pretended to drink Yamuna water and then spat it back into the Yamuna. He also said that when he warned about the adulteration of ammonia in the Yamuna water, Saini threatened to file an FIR against him. Kejriwal wrote on social media that "They want to give the same water to the people of Delhi who cannot drink it themselves. I will not let this happen."

Yamuna water amid political allegations and counter-allegations

At present, there is a series of intense allegations and counter-allegations between both the Delhi and Haryana governments regarding the water of Yamuna. While on one hand the Haryana government is calling its water pure and safe, the Delhi government is firm on its issue, considering it a threat to the public. This dispute is not only important from a political point of view, but is also raising questions about the environmental and health aspects of Yamuna water.

After all, whose claim is correct?

This debate on the quality of Yamuna water has become a major issue for the upcoming assembly elections. It will be interesting to see what steps the governments of Delhi and Haryana take further in this matter, and whose words the public believes to be correct and votes. This dispute may intensify as the elections come closer, because both sides are running their own politics regarding Yamuna water from their own point of view.
