Haryana Election 2024: The assembly election activities in Haryana have intensified, and the polling date is getting closer. Voting is to be held on October 5 for all 90 assembly seats in the state, while the results will be declared on October 8. Meanwhile, a major reversal has been seen in the Haryana Congress. The party on Friday expelled 13 of its leaders for 6 years due to indiscipline. These leaders had decided to contest the elections as independents against the official candidates by the party, which was against the party discipline.Big move of Congress: Action against 13 rebelsThe state unit of Haryana Congress took disciplinary action against 13 leaders who were contesting against the authorized candidates of the party. Congress state president Uday Bhan announced the expulsion of these leaders. The leaders who have been expelled include Naresh Dhande (Guhla SC reserved seat), Pradeep Gill (Jind), Sajjan Singh Dhull and Sunita Battan (Pundri), Rajiv Mamuram Gondar and Dayal Singh Sirohi (Nilokheri-SC reserved), Vijay Jain (Panipat Rural), Dilbagh Sandil (Uchana Kalan), Ajit Phogat (Dadri), Abhijeet Singh (Bhiwani), Satbir Ratera (Bawani Khera-SC reserved), Neetu Mann (Prithla), and Anita Dhull Badsikri (Kalayat).Resentment increased due to not getting ticketMany Congress leaders were angry over not getting ticket for the assembly elections. This resentment was removed to some extent after talks by the party, but some leaders took a rebellious stance and decided to contest the elections as independents. This move created problems for the Congress, due to which the party took strict disciplinary action and expelled them. The party, however, succeeded in removing the resentment of some leaders. Senior Congress leader and former minister Sampat Singh withdrew his name after filing nomination from Nalwa seat. Similarly, Ram Kishan 'Fauji' also withdrew his name from Bawani Khera seat. Former MLA Jasbir Malour, who was contesting against Congress candidate Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, has also withdrawn his candidature. The party had already taken action against Nirmal Singh's daughter Chitra Sarwara, who is contesting from Ambala Cantt seat.Congress's effort to maintain disciplineBy taking this tough step before the Haryana Assembly elections, the Congress has given a message that the party will not tolerate indiscipline at all. The party's strategy is to ensure that unity and discipline is maintained in the electoral process, so that they can enter the electoral fray strongly. The election atmosphere in Haryana is getting hotter day by day, and such disciplinary action is an important step for the Congress. The party is now completely focused on the election and is working towards fighting it unitedly.
