Punjab Politics: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of giving "political asylum" to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal and shielding him amid Enforcement Directorate summons. Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has been called for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday. The Chief Minister arrived at a Vipassana center in Hoshiarpur district on Wednesday evening for a 10-day stay.Bhagwant Mann giving political shelter to Kejriwal: Akali DalShiromani Akali Dal spokesperson Arshdeep Kaler said in a statement, “This is the first time in the history of the country that the Chief Minister of a state has been granted political asylum in another state to save him from the clutches of the central agency. Kaler asked Kejriwal to answer that if he is innocent then why is he running away from the Enforcement Directorate. He said, “It is clear that Kejriwal cannot face questioning.Kejriwal is doing Vipassana in PunjabThe Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday had questioned the timing of issuing the summons, saying party lawyers were studying the notice and "legally appropriate" steps would be taken. The party had said that Kejriwal's Vipassana session was "pre-planned" and the information was public. AAP MP Raghav Chadha had said, “Everyone knows that the Chief Minister is going for Vipassana session on December 19. He goes for this meditation session regularly. It is a pre-determined and pre-announced program.
