All weekly markets in the nation's capital will reopen from August 9, Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday. Weekly markets were closed after the lockdown was imposed in Delhi on April 19 due to an increase in cases during the second wave of COVID19.
Subsequently, a weekly market in each area of the city was allowed to open in accordance with the official code of conduct and COVID guidelines.
The minister said his government cares about the livelihoods of the poor in relation to these markets and urges everyone to adopt appropriate COVID behaviors.
"The weekly market will be open from Monday. These are the poor. The government is very concerned about their livelihood. However, the health and life of each person are also very important. I urge everyone to adopt appropriate COVID19 behavior once these markets open, ”he tweeted.
