An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in South Kashmir's Shopian on Saturday morning. A senior officer of Kashmir Zone Police said that the encounter took place at Chermarg in Zainapora area of ​​Shopian. An unidentified terrorist has been killed in this action. A search operation is being conducted by the jawans in the area.

He said that on information about the hiding of terrorists in the area, a joint team of police, army and CRPF launched a search operation here. As the team moved towards the suspected spot, the terrorists hiding there started firing on them. One terrorist was killed in retaliation.

Earlier on Friday, terrorists carried out a grenade attack in Khwaja Bazar of Nowhatta area of ​​Srinagar. A police personnel was injured in the attack. The blast of a grenade hurled on the road broke the glass of three nearby shops and an auto was also damaged. Soon after the attack, police and security forces launched a joint operation in search of the attackers.

At the same time, on Thursday evening in Shopian, terrorists had hurled a grenade at the CRPF block, in which a vehicle was damaged.
