After getting information about the suspects, 44 Rashtriya Rifles, Shopian Police and 14 battalion of CRPF launched a joint operation, the police official said. As soon as the joint team reached the spot, the terrorists started firing on them. Then there was a reply.

Three terrorists and one helper arrested including two hybrids of Lashkar

Three Lashkar terrorists and an assistant (OGW) were arrested by security forces in Budgam in central Kashmir and Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Thursday. Among the arrested terrorists are two hybrid terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Weapons, explosives and incriminating material have been recovered from their possession. These include one Chinese grenade, two Chinese pistols, three magazines, 42 cartridges. According to the police, on information about the presence of terrorists in Arth area of ​​Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir Police, 2 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army conducted a joint operation and arrested an active Lashkar terrorist.

He has been identified as Yasir Mushtaq. During this, a helper was also caught, who has been identified as Irfan Bashir. Both are residents of Allapora Budgam. A Chinese grenade, an AK47 magazine, 30 cartridges of AK47 and other explosives were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested terrorist had recently joined the terror group and the helper was providing logistical support to him. A case has been registered at Budgam police station.

Apart from this, in Baramulla, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two hybrid terrorists in a joint operation with the Army's 32 RR. They have been identified as Muzmil Ahmed and Mohammad Yasin. Both Chaklu are residents of Baramulla. According to police records, both were missing since February 16, 2022. On their disclosure, 2 Chinese pistols, 2 magazines and 12 pistol rounds were recovered. A case has been registered against them at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been started. Their involvement in other terrorist activities is also being probed, the official said.
