The Bombay High Court will give its final verdict on the divorce of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma today. The court ordered the cooling-off period to be waived so that Chahal's participation in the IPL is not affected. Dhanashree will get an alimony of Rs 4.75 crore.

Chahal-Dhanashree Divorce: The final decision of the Family Court is expected today on the divorce of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma. Taking an important decision, the Bombay High Court overturned the decision of the Bandra Magistrate Court, which refused to waive the mandatory cooling-off period of 6 months. This decision is important because it could have a direct impact on Chahal's IPL participation.

Both separated after two years of marriage

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma got married in December 2020, but both have been living separately since June 2022. They filed a divorce petition by mutual consent and appealed to waive the 6-month cooling-off period. The High Court took into account that they have been living separately for more than two years and have also complied with the agreements made during mediation.

Dhanashree will get alimony of Rs 4.75 crore

As per the divorce settlement, Dhanashree will get alimony of Rs 4.75 crore. Out of this, Rs 2.37 crore has already been paid. The family court had refused to waive the cooling-off period on the ground of pending balance amount, but the High Court clarified that both the parties have settled their differences and there is no pending dispute.
