I was never focused on what I wanted to do on screen. I was selected for the role. I wanted to feel the same passion and joy that I saw actors feel when giving a shot. I wanted to feel the rush of being in front of the camera and working very hard to do a good job "Arjun revealed that he did not know that he was being auditioned to play the hero in Ishaqzaade. He says, "Launching as a lead role also happened because Aditya Chopra saw that I had the fire in me to act as a hero on screen. I never auditioned for the lead role in Ishaqzaade knowing that I'm being auditioned! I was overwhelmed when I got the role. I still remember that day. It was probably one of the happiest days of my life."I have never been insecureThe actor says emotionally, “I just have gratitude that I get to act and I am doing what I love every day. So, I have never been an insecure actor. I have played the lead role, I was the first to do a two-hero film in my time in 'Gunday', the first to work in a group in 'Mubarakan', the first to play Kareena Kapoor Khan's house husband hero in 'Ki and Ka'.
