Ashok Gehlot News: Recently a controversy has arisen over the existence of Shiva temple in Ajmer Sharif Dargah, which has created a stir in the field of politics. Leaders of opposition parties allege that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are raising this issue to do politics in the name of religion. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, while reacting on this issue, said that where there is an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood, the country cannot develop by spreading unrest.

Ashok Gehlot targeted BJP

Ashok Gehlot directly attacked BJP and RSS and said that ever since these parties have come to power, political polarization is being done in the name of religion. He mentioned an important law in Parliament, under which no dispute can be raised regarding those places of worship which were constructed before 15 August 1947. Gehlot alleged that BJP and RSS are violating this law and raking up this controversy for political gain. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to respect the views of the opposition and take it along, but BJP and RSS are not doing so.

PM Modi also offers chadar at Ajmer Dargah

Gehlot further said that people from the country and abroad come to offer chadar at Ajmer Sharif Dargah, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that if the Prime Minister himself offers chadar at Ajmer Sharif, then is this controversy not against the people working towards religion and peace? He stressed that RSS should run a campaign to end discrimination in the country, and not work to divide people with such controversies.

Kapil Sibal targeted the government

Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal also called this development worrying and put the government in the dock. He questioned whether it is right to embroil the country in such controversies for political gain? Sibal called the issue dangerous for the collective fabric of the country and demanded the government not to escalate the dispute and resolve it peacefully.

What is the claim in the case?

The dispute emerged when a petitioner, Vishnu Gupta, filed a case in the court claiming that there was a Shiva temple in the dargah. The petition demanded that the dargah be declared as Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple and Hindus be given the right to worship there. Apart from this, it has also been demanded that the registration of the dargah be canceled and a survey be done there through ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). The next hearing of the case will be on December 20, which can further fuel the dispute.

Result: Need for peace

This dispute over Ajmer Sharif Dargah is not only affecting religious and cultural sensibilities, but is also creating a stir in politics. On this issue, the clear message of Ashok Gehlot, Kapil Sibal and other leaders is that where there is a sense of peace and unity, political games should be avoided. Whatever decision will be taken in this matter, it will be important not only in terms of religious matters but also for the fabric of society and mutual brotherhood.
