Meanwhile, Maxwell has said that he was not surprised at all when he was sold for 14.25 crores. He said that he knew that many teams were looking for a middle order batsman who could also bowl off-spin.

Talking in the video shared by Royal Challengers Bangalore, Maxwell said, 'There was not much surprise, I thought that the teams would definitely show a little bit of interest for me. I think many teams wanted such a middle order player, I knew that there were many teams who were looking for a middle order player who could also bowl off-spin. I am very happy that two teams bid for me and finally RCB team bought me. This is the fourth team in Maxwell's IPL, before which he has played for Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.

Maxwell continued, 'I am very excited to play again. New team, new tournament, we are back in India, I am eager to play here. It was nice to see some well-known faces and this energy has been gained to a great extent from the seven-day quarantine. I want to leave a positive mark on the group. In the first match of IPL 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore team will face five-time champions Mumbai Indians. Last season, RCB's team lost in the Eliminator match to Sunrisers Hyderabad after reaching the playoffs.
