What are the restrictions?

In an order issued on Monday, Goa's tourism department has banned the sale of unauthorized tickets for water sports at outskirts of the state like Malvan (Maharashtra) and Karwar (Karnataka). According to the order issued by director Nikhil Desai, the prohibited activities include 'cooking food in open places, spreading garbage, drinking alcohol in the open, breaking bottles etc.'.

Apart from this, there will also be a ban on such activities, which obstruct the movement of tourists and force them to buy things. Apart from the authorized places, there will also be a ban on selling tickets for tourism activities at other places.

what will be the action

Non-compliance of the rules will attract a fine of Rs 5000. Which can be increased to 50 thousand rupees. Also, action can be taken under section 188 of IPC.

The special thing is that in the year 2019 also, amendment in Goa Tourist Places (Protection and Maintenance) was approved in the Goa Legislative Assembly. In which there was a ban on drinking alcohol, cooking food in the open or breaking bottles at tourist places. In addition, tourists were to be encouraged to eat and drink at other places such as the shacks.
