There were 17 people in the van

A senior official said that a total of 17 people were in the van. He said that 11 of them died on the spot and two others were declared dead in the hospital. He said that two of the four injured are admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. The passenger vehicle was completely damaged after colliding with a lorry parked on the road. Bodies of people were found in the vehicle. Fire department personnel are removing the bodies trapped in the vehicle.

People were returning after visiting Chincholi Mayamma

Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar Srivastava said that the victims were going to their village Yemehatti in Shivamogga district from Chincholi Mayakka Devasthan. The truck was parked on the side of the highway. The tempo traveler hit the truck from behind. He said that the bodies have been taken to the mortuary and the injured have been admitted to the Haveri Government Hospital. A child is also among the 13 people who died.

Mourning spread in the village

Haveri SP Anshu Kumar visited the spot. He said that the fire brigade and police personnel took out the bodies in a TT vehicle and the injured are being treated at the district hospital. The people of Yemehatti village are shocked to hear the news of the death of 13 people and mourning has spread in the village. It is being told that all the people who died are from the same village.
