Mumbai: The novel coronavirus has been in our lives for close to two years now. The first wave was difficult for the people and while many thought that they will be fully prepared for the second wave, it hit even harder and took the lives of many. Several celebs also tested positive at that time and one among them was Deepika Padukone. When the second wave hit the country, Deepika and Ranveer Singh went to Bangaluru to be with the actress' family. And at that time, Deepika, her parents, and her sister tested positive for COVID-19. It was in May 2021. Up till now, Deepika never really spoke about her experience with COVID-19 and how she dealt with it. But now, the actress, in an interview, spoke in length about how the experience was difficult and how she coped with the same. During the interview, Deepika said that she was completely unrecognisable and had to take two months off from work as her "mind was not working."While speaking to Film Companion's Anupama Chopra, Deepika shared, "Lockdown two was also very different because everyone in my family, including me, had COVID at the same time. Life after COVID changed for me because physically, I was unrecognizable completely... I think (due to) the medication I was given, the steroids that I was put on. So COVID in itself was weird, your body feels different, your mind feels different."The actress also spoke about her life after COVID and said, "I felt that when I had the illness it was still okay but after that, I needed to take two months off work because my mind wasn't working. The phase for me was very, very difficult."During the lockdown, Ranveer and Deepika entertained their fans through their social media posts. From working out together, cooking, to trying different and viral Instagram Reels, Deepika and Ranveer did everything together during the lockdown. On the work front, Deepika was last seen in 83 as Romi Bhatia (Kapil Dev's wife). The film starred Ranveer in the lead role as Kapil Dev and it was based on India's historic World Cup win in 1983. The film was delayed for almost a year due to the pandemic and was finally released on December 24, 2021. Next, Deepika is all set for the release of her upcoming movie Gehraiyaan, which will stream online on Amazon Prime from January 25, 2022. The film also stars Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa and Sidhant Chaturvedi. The teaser of the film left everyone excited for the new pairing.
