Apart from this, attacks on the Pak Army and Chinese projects have also increased. BLA has increased its action amid the tension.

Baloch Liberation Army: The ongoing rebellion in Pakistan's Balochistan province seems to be getting fierce once again. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has recently taken responsibility for several attacks and has given sleepless nights to Pakistan's security agencies. In the latest development, the BLA has claimed that it has killed an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officer in the Pasni area of Gwadar district. Along with this attack, the Baloch rebels have carried out many other attacks to send a message that it is going to be more difficult for the Pakistani army and agencies to survive in Balochistan.

ISI officer targeted

According to BLA spokesperson Jiyand Baloch, the fighters of the organization carried out an intelligence operation in Pasni on Sunday evening, in which an ISI officer named Mohammad Nawaz was killed. Nawaz belonged to Khushab district of Punjab province and was posted in Gwadar. According to the information, BLA's intelligence unit 'Ziraab' was keeping an eye on Nawaz for a long time. The attack was a well-planned one — his vehicle was targeted by a remote-controlled explosion near the Maskan Chowk graveyard at 7 pm. The blast was so massive that the vehicle was completely destroyed.

The BLA also alleged that Mohammad Nawaz was being escorted by a local 'death squad' leader known as Balach. Another man associated with the death squad, Salman (s/o Munir Ahmad) also died in the attack, while another operative Shah Nazar was injured.

Other attacks by Baloch insurgents

  • Apart from the attack on the ISI official, the BLA has also made its presence felt in other parts of Balochistan.
  • A Pakistani soldier was gunned down in a sniper attack in Jamuran area of Kech district.
  • Vehicles associated with the Saindak project were attacked in Manguchar area of Kalat district. The Saindak project is a major Chinese investment project, which has already been the centre of protests from locals.
  • Another challenge was given to the security forces by attacking the police line in Dhadar area of Bolan district with a grenade.
  • Through these attacks, BLA has made it clear that it will further intensify its operations against the Pakistan government and army.
Indirect accusation on India

Amidst the increasing number of BLA attacks in Balochistan, there is a growing discussion inside Pakistan that India is behind these incidents. Although India has officially denied any such accusation, analysts believe that India is succeeding in pressurizing Pakistan even without direct intervention. By making allegations against India, Pakistan is trying to cover up its internal failures, while the ground reality is that the Baloch people have been fighting for their rights for years.
