IND vs PAK / India gave Pakistan a target of 267 runs - Ishan and Hardik played memorable innings

India has given a target of 267 runs to Pakistan to win in the third match of Asia Cup. The team won the toss and batted first and were all out for 266 runs in 48.5 overs. Vice-captain Hardik Pandya played half-centuries of 87 runs and Ishan Kishan played half-centuries of 82 runs. For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took four wickets, while Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah got 3 wickets each.

Top order flopped

Indian team's top order flopped after winning the toss at Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy. Captain Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs, Shubman Gill 10, Virat Kohli 4 and Shreyas Iyer 14 runs.

Pandya scored the most runs

After losing top-4 wickets early, Hardik Pandya, who came at number-6, played an inning of 87 runs and took the team's score beyond 200. He collected the 11th Fifty of his ODI career. Pandya made the second best score of ODI career. He scored at a strike rate of 96.67. Pandya's 90-ball inning included 7 fours and a six.

Ishaan's fourth consecutive ODI fifty

Ishan Kishan was out after scoring 82 runs on 81 balls. He scored the 7th fifty of his career. This was also Kishan's fourth consecutive fifty in ODI. Earlier, Kishan had played innings of 52, 55 and 77 in three consecutive ODIs on the West Indies tour.

Ishaan came out to play ODI against Pakistan for the first time and scored fifty. He also has a double century to his name.

Hardik-Ishaan's record partnership

Hardik Pandya and Ishaan Kishan recovered India from the initial shock and made a century partnership. Both shared a 138-run partnership for the 5th wicket off 141 balls. Ishaan became the victim of Haris Rauf after scoring 82 runs and this partnership was broken. The 138-run partnership for the 5th wicket is the biggest partnership for India in the Asia Cup. Both broke the record of Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh, who shared a 133-run partnership against Sri Lanka in 2004. Hardik-Ishaan's partnership is also the biggest partnership for the 5th wicket from India against Pakistan. Earlier, Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif had made a partnership of 135 runs on the Kanpur ground in 2005.

Powerplay-1: India lost 3 wickets in 10 overs

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Team India got off to a steady start. The team had scored 15 runs without loss in 4.2 overs when it started raining. When the play resumed after the rain, India lost 2 wickets within 10 balls. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 11 and Virat Kohli got bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi after scoring 4 runs. Then in the 10th over, Haris Rauf got Shreyas Iyer caught out. Iyer could only score 14 runs.

After the powerplay, opener Shubman Gill was out after scoring 10 runs on 32 balls.

Team India's wicket fell like this

First: (Rohit Sharma - 11 runs) - Last ball of the 5th over, Shaheen Shah Afridi threw an in-swinger on the good length. Rohit misses the ball completely and the ball goes straight to the stumps.

Second: (Virat Kohli 4 runs): Shaheen Afridi bowled the third ball of the seventh over at a good length outside the off stump. Virat Kohli went to the backfoot defence, but the ball hit his bat and hit the stumps.

Third: (Shreyas Iyer - 14 runs): Haris Rauf bowled a short pitch in the 5th ball of the 10th over. Shreyas played a pull shot, but was caught by Fakhar Zaman at midwicket.

Fourth: (Shubman Gill-10 runs): Haris Rauf, the first ball of the 15th over, bowled an in-swinger on the good length. Shubman Gill went to defend front foot, but the ball hit his bat and hit the stumps.

Fifth: (Ishaan Kishan-82 runs): Caught out on the third ball of the 38th over. Haris was trying to pull Rauf's bouncer, but the ball was mistimed and caught by Babar Azam at mid-on.

Sixth: (Hardik Pandya-87 runs): Shaheen Afridi caught the hands of Agha Salman on the first ball of the 44th over.

Seventh: (Ravindra Jadeja-14 runs): On the last ball of the 44th over, Shaheen Afridi was caught by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Eighth: (Shardul Thakur - 3 runs): On the first ball of the 45th over, Naseem Shah was caught by Shabad Khan.

Ninth: (Kuldeep Yadav- 4 runs): Naseem Shah got caught by Mohammad Rizwan on the second ball of the 49th over.

Play stopped twice due to rain

Play had to be stopped twice during the Indian innings due to rain. For the first time the game was stopped in the fifth over of the innings. Then India's score in 4.2 overs was 15 runs for 0 wickets. It rained for about 15 minutes, due to which play had to be stopped for half an hour.

Then it rained again in the 12th over and play had to be stopped for a while. This time India's score was 51/3. Kohli, Rohit and Iyer were out.
