ICC News: ICC has imposed serious objections on an umpire of India. There is news that this umpire can get badly entangled in corruption related cases. The ICC has given this umpire a few days' time, otherwise some major action can also be taken.Indian umpire trapped in corruptionThe ICC on Monday accused Bathinda umpire Jatin Kashyap of breaching the anti-corruption code after an investigation into international matches in 2022. The ICC did not provide details of the incidents that led to Kashyap being charged under its anti-corruption code. Kashyap has officiated in district level matches in Punjab but is not on the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) panel.Major allegationsKashyap has been charged with failing or refusing without reasonable cause to co-operate with an Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) investigation into possible corrupt conduct under the ICC Code. The ICC said in the statement that this also included failing to provide accurately and completely any information and documentation requested by the ACU as part of the investigation.The second violation pertains to "obstructing or delaying an ACU investigation into possible corrupt conduct under the Code," which includes concealing, tampering with, or destroying any document or other information, the statement said. which may be relevant to that inquiry and which may constitute evidence of a finding of evidence of corrupt practice under the Code.PCA also gave a big statementBCCI sources said the ICC had sought information about the umpire from the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) in October last year. PCA secretary Dilsher Khanna, however, said the ICC's charges against Kashyap had nothing to do with the game in the state.
