An IndiGo flight skidded off the runway during take-off in Jorhat, Assam. No passenger was injured in this incident. The plane was scheduled to fly from Jorhat to Kolkata on Thursday. A team has been constituted to probe the matter. Indigo Airlines says that preliminary investigation has not found any defect in the aircraft.

According to the report, the pilot stopped the plane soon after it skidded off the runway. All the passengers were let down. After some time the passengers left for Kolkata by another flight. News agency ANI has released the picture of the incident. In this, the wheels of the plane can be seen stuck in the muddy ground.

SpiceJet plane stopped from taking off

On the other hand, SpiceJet aircraft flying from Mumbai airport to Kandla in Gujarat was stopped from taking off following a warning signal. A senior official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said the directorate has started a probe into the matter. This is at least the ninth incident of a technical snag in a SpiceJet aircraft in the last 40 days.

A day earlier, the DGCA ordered SpiceJet not to operate more than 50 per cent of its flights for eight weeks to ensure safe and reliable transport service. SpiceJet said, "SpiceJet's Q400 flight from Mumbai to Kandla was grounded after receiving a warning signal. The crew worked as per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
