BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has told that the league matches of IPL 2022 will be played in Maharashtra only. After this playoff matches can be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. BCCI has not yet decided the venue for IPL 2022, but there is every possibility that this time IPL will be played in India. Earlier, half the season of IPA 2020 and IPL 2021 was played in UAE, but this time BCCI does not want to conduct IPL in UAE.BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said in a conversation with Sports Star that the league matches of IPL 2022 will be played in Maharashtra. All these matches will be held in the grounds of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune. Whereas the host city and stadium for the playoff matches will be decided later. Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium is at the fore in this race.Talking on the IPL, Ganguly said, "This year it will be organized in India only, if the cases of corona do not increase too much then it has been decided that the IPL will be organized in the country itself. As far as the host stadium is concerned. We are looking at hosting matches in Maharashtra. Mumbai and Pune. We will decide the host stadium for the knock-out matches later."Why doesn't BCCI want to do IPL in UAE?The BCCI had organized the IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 for half the season in the UAE. Apart from this, the T20 World Cup 2021 was also organized in Dubai. The Indian Cricket Board had given Rs 150 crore to the Emirates Cricket Board to host the half-season of IPL 2020 and 2021. On the other hand, there are only three grounds in the UAE and all have a lot of dew. Because of this, the importance of the toss increases here in the evening matches. Even in the T20 World Cup, the team that won the toss won most of the matches. This ends the thrill of cricket. This is the reason why BCCI does not want to do IPL in UAE.If not India, where will the IPL be?Apart from India, BCCI is thinking of conducting IPL in South Africa in Plan B. Even before this, one season of IPL has been held in South Africa. The South Africa Cricket Board has also given an official proposal to host the IPL. However, IPL matches will be played in Africa only when the cases of corona increase very much in India and it is not possible to organize IPL here. At present, the BCCI is thinking of organizing the IPL inside the country.
