CM Hemant Soren: Political activities have intensified in Jharkhand with the approach of assembly elections. The government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken several important decisions in an important cabinet meeting. Especially, big relief has been announced for electricity consumers.

In the cabinet meeting held on Thursday, it was decided that electricity dues of Rs 3,584 crore of about 39.44 lakh domestic consumers covered under the Chief Minister Energy Khushali Yojana will be waived. The decision is aimed at providing relief to consumers from financial pressure. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel confirmed that now these consumers will not be required to pay the outstanding bills. Chief Minister Soren has reiterated his government's commitment to tribals, Dalits, poor and women through this decision.

Other decisions of the cabinet include approval of ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh and government jobs for the families of Agniveer soldiers of Jharkhand. It was also decided to increase the remuneration period for Anganwadi Poshan Sakhis and Cooks from 10 to 12 months, for which Rs 31.71 crore has been allocated. Apart from this, Jharkhand Waqf Regulation 2024 has also been approved and approval has been given for reappointment of 10,388 Poshan Sakhis in six districts.

With all these decisions, the Jharkhand government has once again indicated to strengthen its public welfare policies and schemes before the elections.

Dues will be waived

Actually, the dues of 39.44 lakh electricity consumers of Jharkhand will be waived. The decision taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren is aimed at relieving the financial burden of domestic consumers enrolled under the Chief Minister Urja Khushali Yojana. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel has confirmed that the waiver will apply to the dues of these consumers. He said, "After this approval of the Cabinet, now these consumers will not have to pay the outstanding bills."

Other important decisions of the Cabinet

The Cabinet also approved additional measures, including an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh and government jobs for the families of Agniveer soldiers of Jharkhand who lost their lives during duty or military operations. Other decisions include increasing the remuneration period for Anganwadi Poshan Sakhis and cooks from 10 to 12 months. Rs 31.71 crore has been allocated for this purpose. The Cabinet also approved the reappointment of 10,388 Poshan Sakhis in six districts - Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Chatra, Koderma and Godda. With this, Jharkhand Waqf Regulation 2024 was given the green signal.
