Hemant Soren News: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren took oath as CM on Thursday evening. He has become the 13th Chief Minister of the state. Earlier, Champai Soren resigned from the post of CM on Wednesday. After this, JMM leader Hemant Soren met Governor CP Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan and staked claim to form the government. Hemant has taken charge of the state for the third time.

Earlier it was being claimed that Hemant would take oath as Chief Minister on July 7. Earlier, the leaders and MLAs of the ruling coalition unanimously elected Hemant Soren as the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Legislature Party in a meeting at Champai Soren's residence in Ranchi

Alliance's decision in favor of Hemant: Champai

After resigning to the Governor, Champai Soren said yesterday, "I have resigned as per the decision of the JMM-led coalition. Our alliance is strong in the state." He further said, "Everyone knows what happened to Hemant. After his departure, the coalition partners gave me the responsibility of the state. Now, the coalition has decided in favor of Hemant Soren. ”

Hemant Soren said that all the formalities for the formation of a new government in the state have been completed. When asked about the swearing-in, the JMM working president said that everything will be told soon. Hemant is taking oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time.

Apart from Champai Soren and Hemant Soren, the delegation of the ruling coalition of the state that met the Governor also included State Congress President Rajesh Thakur, State Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and minister Satyanand Bhokta, CPI (ML) MLA Vinod Singh.

Hemant Soren was released from jail on 28 June last month after the High Court granted him bail in the money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. He was in jail for about 5 months. Hemant had resigned from the post of CM before his arrest on 31 January at the beginning of the year. Hemant is again taking charge of the state at a time when assembly elections are to be held here after a few months (November-December).
