Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 / Know the correct method of worshiping Ganpati Ji and the correct rules of installation

Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Ganesh Utsav is starting from 7th September, which will end on 17th September 2024 on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. This festival starts every year from the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month, when the idol of Lord Ganesha is installed in homes and pandals. After worship for ten days, Ganesh ji is immersed.

Ganesha Puja Beginner's Method

Start of Purity: First of all take water in a vessel and sit on a mat at the place of worship. Take kusha and water in hand and chant the following mantra:

'Om aphrodisiac: Pavitro Va Sarvavastha Gatoapi Va. Ya: Smreta Pundarikaksham Sa Bahantar: Shuchi:.'

Sprinkle the water on yourself and the items of worship, then rinse three times.

Take water in your hand and chant 'Om Keshavay Namah Om Narayanaya Namah Om Madhavay Namah Om Hrishikeshay Namah' and pour the water on the mouth.

Installation of the idol:

Install the Ganesh idol in the north-east direction, and the idol should face north.

Clean the idol thoroughly and purify it by sprinkling Ganga water.

Spread a red cloth and place Akshat on it. Then install the idol with pure hands.

Bathe the idol with Ganga water and place Riddhi-Siddhi or betel nut next to it.

Place a Kalash on the right side and fill it with water.

Meditate on Ganpati Bappa with flowers and Akshat in your hand and offer him fruits, flowers, sweets.

Puja and Aarti:

Chant the mantra 'Om Gan Ganpataye Namah' during the puja.

Perform the aarti of Ganesh ji at the end of the puja.

Important rules of Ganesha installation

Install the idol of Ganpati Bappa in the north-east direction and it should face towards the west.

Clean the place of worship completely and keep it free from impurities.

Worship Ganesha regularly in the morning and evening and offer him bhog.

Keep the idol stable, remove it only at the time of immersion.

Do not consume non-veg, alcohol, garlic, and onion during the festival.
