Mumbai: Maharashtral Unlock Plan: With the decrease in corona cases in Maharashtra and metropolitan Mumbai, the unlock process is being started in a phased manner. A 5-tier unlock scheme has been announced in Maharashtra, although the local, called the 'lifeline' of the capital Mumbai, will remain closed for the time being. Under this scheme of the Maharashtra government, unlock has been divided into five levels. Certain concessions will be given under each level.Rajdhani Mumbai is in Level 2 while Thane District is in Level 1. Local in Mumbai will be kept closed for the time being. The lockdown can be completely removed in the districts placed in Level 1. In this category, 18 districts including Thane have been kept. It is worth noting that the number of new corona cases in Maharashtra has come to around 15 thousand. In metropolitan Mumbai, the number of cases has come down to below one thousand. Due to the low number of new cases in Mumbai, some relief has been given in the restrictions imposed. On May 31, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had issued guidelines for Mumbai saying that all essential shops would remain open from 7 am to 2 pm. The shops of non-essential items will open as per the day. The shop on the right will open on Monday-Wednesday and Friday while the shop on the left will open on Tuesday-Thursday. This sequence will change every week i.e. shops which were open on Monday-Wednesday and Friday this week will open on Tuesday and Thursday next week. Shops of non-essential goods will remain closed on weekends i.e. Saturday-Sunday. At present, the number of active cases of corona in the state is around two lakh 50 thousand.
