Rahul Gandhi News: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has reacted sharply to the recent statement of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. He termed Mohan Bhagwat's statement as treason in which it was said that India got real independence after the construction of Ram temple. Rahul Gandhi called it an insult to every Indian and said that if this statement had been made in any other country, Bhagwat would have been arrested.Addressing party leaders on the occasion of the inauguration of the Congress Party's new headquarters 'Indira Bhavan' in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said, "Mohan Bhagwat dares to tell the country every 2-3 days what he thinks about the freedom movement and the Constitution. His saying that India did not get independence in 1947 is tantamount to treason. This statement is not only an insult to the freedom struggle but also to the Constitution and democratic values."Rahul Gandhi said that it has become clear that the RSS and its leaders do not give importance to India's freedom movement. He said, "Dismissing the fight against the British and saying that India did not get independence in 1947 is a direct insult to every freedom fighter. It takes a lot of courage to say that what our ancestors did was wrong. If Bhagwat had made such a statement in any other country, he would have been prosecuted for treason."
Questions raised on Bhagwat's statement RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had said a few days ago in the context of the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya that India got real independence the day Ram temple was built. This statement of Bhagwat has created a stir in political circles.According to Bhagwat, "After suffering attacks from enemies for many centuries, the country got real independence with the construction of Ram temple. This day should be celebrated as Pratishtha Dwadashi." His statement has made not only the Congress but also other opposition parties aggressive against the government and RSS.Congress ideology vs Sangh ideology In his speech, Rahul Gandhi underlined the ongoing struggle between two ideologies in India. He said, "This is a battle of two ideologies. One ideology advocates the protection of the Constitution and democratic values. On the other hand is the ideology of the Sangh which is against these values."He said that the Congress is the only party that can oppose the agenda of the BJP and the Sangh. "There is no other political party in the country that can stop the ideology of the Sangh and the BJP. Congress is the only party that stands firmly against them because we are committed to the Constitution and democratic values," Rahul Gandhi said.Sonia Gandhi inaugurates new headquarters The new headquarters of the Congress party was inaugurated by senior party leader Sonia Gandhi. The party expressed strong opposition against this statement and said that it is an insult to the sacrifice of the country's freedom fighters.Other opposition parties have also tried to corner the RSS and BJP on this issue. Many leaders raised the question whether the BJP and RSS are trying to underestimate India's independence and the contribution of its heroes.Challenging times before the country Rahul Gandhi said at the end of his speech that this time is challenging for the country.
