This Trinamool MLA was arrested after 65 hours of continuous search. He was accused of offering a teacher's job in exchange for cash. It is alleged that he was in collusion with the officials of the education department and had given jobs to ineligible people in exchange for cash. Currently in jail custody.Kuntal Ghosh, former TMC youth leader21 January 2023. Kuntal Ghosh was arrested by ED in the teacher recruitment corruption case. Kuntal's name came up after questioning Tapas Mandal, leader of the private college organization. Kuntal was a youth leader of Trinamool Congress from Hooghly. The allegation is that he worked for former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and unethically helped unqualified youth to get teacher jobs at the local level. Currently in jail custody.Shantanu Banerjee, former TMC youth leaderOn March 11, 2023, Shantanu Banerjee, close to Kuntal Ghosh, was arrested by the ED. He was the health officer of Shantanu Hooghly District Council. Like Kuntal, the youth leader of Trinamool Congress from Hooghly was arrested by the ED after 7 hours of questioning. The investigators had recovered the admit card and various documents from his house in Balagarh. At present he is also in jail custody.
