On which crops the MSP was increased

Paddy (General), Paddy (Grade A), Jowar (Hybrid), Jowar (Maldandi), Bajra, Ragi, Maize, Toor (Tur), Moong, Urad, Groundnut, Sunflower Seed, Soyabean (Yellow), Sesame, Ramtil, The government has increased the MSP on cotton (medium fibre), cotton (long fibre).

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, in the last 8 years, the market outlook of seeds has benefited. Several steps have been taken to increase the income of the farmers. In today's meeting, it was decided to increase the MSP for 14 Kharif crops. We have continuously carried forward what was decided last year that cost plus 50 percent. 2 lakh crore has gone into the account under Kisan Samman Nidhi. 2 lakh 10 thousand crore subsidy has been given on fertilizer.

Who decides the MSP?

The minimum support price is announced by the government on the recommendation of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) twice a year in the Rabi and Kharif seasons. The sugarcane commission decides the support price of sugarcane.
