After souring relations for some time, now sweetness has started dissolving in India-Nepal relations. Nepal's PM Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is on a three-day visit to India, held talks with PM Narendra Modi in Delhi on Saturday. After this, both the leaders launched RuPay card in Nepal and train service from Jaynagar in India to Kurtha in Nepal.PM Modi and Deuba jointly launched RuPay card and train service. The Jayanagar-Kurtha railway line has been developed with the help of India. Other projects like Nepal Police Academy, e-integrated check post at Nepalganj, Ramayana circuit etc. will also bring the two countries closer. PM Modi said that I and PM Deuba have also agreed to give priority to the initiatives of trade and cross-border connectivity in all respects. The beginning of the Jayanagar-Kurtha rail line is a part of this. Such schemes would make a great contribution to the smooth, hassle-free exchange of people between the two countries.Modi said that I am particularly happy that Nepal has become a member of the International Solar Alliance. This will promote sustainable, economical and clean energy in our region. Indian companies have also agreed to greater participation in Nepal's hydro power development projects. PM Modi said that Deuba ji is an old friend of India. He has played an important role in the development of India-Nepal relations. We have been companions of happiness and sorrow since time immemorial. India has been a firm partner in Nepal's journey of peace, progress and development.In a joint statement, Deuba said - I appreciate the affection towards the Nepali people.PM Modi and Deuba also issued a joint statement on this occasion. In this Deuba said, 'I really appreciate your love and affection for Nepal and the Nepalese people and my visit today will take these instinctive feelings further. Deuba said that today we had friendly talks and fruitful discussions on various aspects of India-Nepal relations. We shared our perspectives on further strengthening friendly relations. I admire India's progress under the visionary leadership of PM Modi. We have seen India's effective management during COVID-19. Received medicines, medical equipment and logistics to combat COVID apart from primary vaccine support from India.Jayanagar in Madhubani, Kurtha station in Janakpur, NepalThe train service between India and Nepal will be from Jaynagar station in Madhubani district of Bihar to Kurtha station in Janakpur, Nepal. The Jayanagar-Kurtha section is part of the 68.7 km long Bijalpur-Bardidas rail link. It is being built under the grant-in-aid of 8.77 billion Nepalese rupees from the Government of India.Earlier, there was a meeting between Deuba and PM Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi. In this, both the leaders considered giving a new dimension to the bilateral relations between the two countries. Deuba is considered a friend of India. Soon after KP Sharma Oli's withdrawal and Deuba won the trust vote in the Nepalese Parliament, Prime Minister Modi congratulated him. After this, there was a talk between the two leaders on the phone on July 19, 2019. The two leaders met on the sidelines of the COP 26 meeting in Glasgow in November 2021.Deuba had reached Delhi on Friday on a three-day visit to India. He was received at the airport by Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt. On the first day of the visit, Deuba met BJP President JP Nadda and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In the meeting with Jaishankar, both the countries stressed the need to further strengthen the age-old bilateral ties.Deuba will go to Varanasi tomorrowEarlier, after Deuba and his wife Dr Arzoo Deuba reached Delhi, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted, A warm welcome to a special friend. In this tour, Deuba will reach Varanasi at 9 am on Sunday. After visiting many temples there, he will return to Delhi in the afternoon.
