Even on its own, the 6.5-litre V12 engine inside a Lamborghini Aventador is more than capable of lightening speeds and any modification to further improve on this could come at a cost. A Czech man recently found out just how high the cost could be when his modified and extremely rare Lamborghini Aventador caught fire and was eventually - and completely - ruined by it.

The man's Lamborghini Aventador was an ultra luxurious supercar which was reportedly modified by acclaimed tuner Mansory to pump up its max power from an audacious 515 kW to an astounding 950 kW. The corresponding heat from it, however, may not have been taken into account and the supercar, estimated to be worth around $2.5 million, was charred beyond recognition.

It is reported that the fire fighters battled hard to bring the flames under control and to salvage any part of the otherwise envious vehicle - but it was not meant to be. The modified car which was capable of racing to 100 kmph in 2.6 seconds and had a top speed of 380 kmph, was only a heap of blackened rubbish by the time the fire was brought under control.

While aficionados of racecars and supercars often make modifications to better the best figures their cars are capable of, it comes with its own set of possible troubles that could slam the brake - often in the most unfortunate of circumstances.
