The names of eight railway stations in Lucknow division have been changed. Now Kasimpur Halt will be named Jais City, Jais will be named Guru Gorakhnath Dham, and Misrauli will be named Maa Kalikan Dham. Other changed names include Swami Paramhans, Maharaja Bijli Pasi, and Tapeshwarnath Dham.

Indian Railway: Big news is coming out from UP at this time. The names of 8 railway stations of Lucknow division have been changed. The names of the stations which have been changed are Kasimpur Halt, Jaish, Misrauli, Bani, Nihalgarh, Akbarganj, Wazirganj Halt, Fursatganj.

What are the new names of the stations?

Kasimpur Halt has been renamed as Jais City, Jaish has been renamed as Guru Gorakhnath Dham, Misrauli has been renamed as Maa Kalikan Dham. Bani has been renamed as Swami Paramhans, Nihalgarh has been renamed as Maharaja Bijli Pasi, Akbarganj has been renamed as Maa Ahorva Bhawani Dham, Wazirganj Halt has been renamed as Amar Shaheed Bhale Sultan and Fursatganj has been renamed as Tapeshwarnath Dham.

These name changes have been done keeping in view the local cultural and religious significance, and an attempt has been made to realise the regional identity. With the new names, railway stations will now give more prominence to religious and historical references.
