Starting the address, PM Modi said that on the completion of one year of the new National Education Policy, many congratulations to all the countrymen and all the students. Before this, he also started many initiatives related to the education sector. In the last one year, all you great personalities, teachers, principals, policy makers of the country have worked very hard in bringing the National Education Policy on the ground. He said that this important occasion has come at a time when the country is celebrating 75 years of Independence Amrit Mahotsav. In such a situation, the implementation of the new National Education Policy has become a major part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

Regarding the importance of education, PM Modi said that how far we will go in the future, how much height we will achieve, it will depend on what direction we are giving to our youth at present i.e. today. I believe that India's new national education policy is one of the big factors in the great sacrifice of nation building.

Praising the youth of today, PM Modi said that today's youth of the 21st century wants to make their own systems, their own world. Therefore, he needs exposure, he needs freedom from old shackles, cages.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the new 'National Education Policy' assures the youth that the country is now completely with them, with their spirits. The Artificial Intelligence program which has just been launched will also make our youth future oriented, will open the way for AI driven economy.

He said that we – you have seen this environment for decades when it was understood that to study well one had to go abroad. But students from abroad should come to India for good studies, best institutions come to India, now we are going to see this.

Praising the National Education Policy, PM Modi said that the National Education Policy has been kept free from all kinds of pressure. Now how much students study, for how long, it will not only be decided by the institutions, students will also participate in it.

PM Modi said that to realize the possibilities being created today, our youth will have to be one step ahead of the world, think one step ahead. Be it health, defence, infrastructure, technology, the country has to be capable and self-reliant in every direction.

Talking about starting engineering studies in native languages, he said that I am happy that 14 engineering colleges in 8 states are going to start engineering studies in 5 Indian languages- Hindi-Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali. A tool has also been developed for translation of engineering courses into 11 Indian languages.

He said that for the first time Indian Sign Language has been accorded the status of a language subject. Now students will be able to read it as a language also. This will give a big boost to Indian Sign Language, will help our Divyang companions a lot.

Prime Minister Modi also launched the Academic Bank of Credit at the event which will provide multiple entry and exit options for students in higher education. Along with this will also issue guidelines for internationalization of first year engineering programs and higher education in regional languages.

Initiatives to be launched by Prime Minister Modi include Vidya Pravesh, a three-month drama based school preparation module for Grade 1 students, Indian Sign Language as a subject at the secondary level; NISHTHA 2.0, an integrated program of teacher training designed by NCERT; Safal (Structured Assessment for Analysis of Learning Level), a competency based assessment framework for grades 3, 5 and 8 in CBSE schools and a website which will be entirely dedicated to Artificial Intelligence.

In addition, the event will also witness the launch of the National Digital Education Framework (NDEAR) and the National Education Technology Forum (NETF).
