The college authorities came to know about the incident when some girls noticed that the girl's room was locked from inside. It is being told that the student was upset due to the insistence of her parents to attend offline classes.

According to media reports, her parents had allegedly forced her to attend offline classes against her wishes. The girl who hanged herself is Kondapalli Manisha Anju, a resident of Nellimarla in Vizianagaram. She was a first year student of IIT-Srikakulam. She was attending online affairs since the start of the academic year.

Once the corona cases started decreasing, the college authorities informed the students that all students can continue online classes or start attending offline classes. According to media reports, despite the girl's desire to continue with online classes, her parents insisted that she join offline classes. When he did not agree, his parents dropped him from his college IIIT-Srikakulam. Since then, the girl has become angry.

Angry with her parents, the girl threw her mobile phone in the bus. His parents bought him a new phone the next day. On Wednesday, some girl students noticed that their room was locked from inside and informed the college administration.

Suspicious death case registered under section 174

On entering the room, the police officers saw that the girl was hanging from the fan. Ehrla sub-inspector K Ramu said a case has been registered under section 174 (suspicious death) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
