new Delhi. Nepal's Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will visit India on a three-day visit on April 1. Sources said on Saturday that the purpose of his visit is to strengthen the ties between the two countries. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 2. Apart from the official meetings in Delhi, the Nepali PM will also visit Varanasi.

This is Deuba's first visit to India after becoming the Prime Minister of Nepal in July 2021. Prior to this, he was the Prime Minister of Nepal four times and visited India in every term. He last came to India in 2017 as PM.

Sources said Deuba's visit to India is part of the tradition of periodic high-level exchanges between the two countries. It will provide an opportunity to the two countries to review aspects of development, economic partnership, trade, cooperation in the health sector, connectivity, energy, people-to-people ties and other issues of mutual interest.
