Vijay Diwas / Prime Minister and Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the heroes on Vijay Diwas

Today the country is celebrating Vijay Diwas to commemorate the unprecedented victory in the 1971 war. The Indian Army forced the Pakistani Army to surrender along with 93,000 soldiers, thereby liberating Bangladesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the martyrs on this occasion.

Vijay Diwas: Today the whole country is celebrating Vijay Diwas in memory of the historic victory of 1971. This day symbolizes the unprecedented courage, sacrifice and strategic skill of the Indian Army, which not only forced Pakistan to kneel, but also played a decisive role in the independence struggle of Bangladesh. Within 13 days, the Indian Army forced 93,000 Pakistani soldiers to surrender. This is considered the largest military surrender after World War II.

PM Modi paid tribute

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered the brave soldiers on this historic day, whose courage and sacrifice made the 1971 victory possible. He wrote on Twitter:

Defence Minister salutes armed forces

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the valour of the Indian Army on this occasion. He wrote:

"Today, on the special occasion of Vijay Diwas, the country salutes the bravery and sacrifice of the Armed Forces of India. Their unwavering courage and patriotism ensured that our country remained safe. India will never forget their sacrifice and service."

This message reflects that the Indian Army is committed not only to the country but also to stand up against injustice.
