Bangladesh Vijay Diwas: Today 'Vijay Diwas' is being celebrated with great pomp in Bangladesh. This day marks the historic victory of the brave warriors of the Indian Army and Mukti Bahini in 1971, who fought against Pakistan and brought independence to Bangladesh. On 16 December 1971, the then Army Chief of Pakistan, General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, surrendered along with 93,000 Pakistani soldiers to the joint leadership of the Indian Army and Mukti Bahini. She also said that since this government has not been elected democratically, there is no accountability for them.
