Student murder case: High Court upholds sentence

On the other hand, the Bangladesh High Court has upheld the death sentence of 20 students for the brutal murder of student Abrar Fahad in 2019. Abrar Fahad was killed for criticizing the Sheikh Hasina government. He was beaten to death by activists of the Awami League student organization over a Facebook post. The lower court had sentenced the culprits to death in 2021, which has now been upheld by the High Court.

Bangladesh's judicial direction

These two incidents are raising new questions about Bangladesh's judicial system. Is this a case of political vendetta or a big step towards justice? The international community is keeping an eye on these incidents.
