Muhammad Yunus / Bangladesh makes a big claim, says 'Lakhs of members of Hasina's party fled to India'

Mahfuz Alam, information adviser to Bangladesh's interim government, claimed that more than one lakh members of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League have fled to India. He accused Hasina of human rights violations. Hasina retaliated by calling the Yunus government a dictatorship.

Muhammad Yunus: Mahfuz Alam, information adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh, has recently made a shocking claim that more than one lakh members of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Awami League party have fled to India. This statement has become a subject of widespread discussion in the media. According to Bangladeshi news portal bdnews24.com, Mahfuz Alam made this remark at a ceremony organized on the occasion of Eid, which was attended by the families of persons allegedly missing or killed during Hasina's tenure.

Mahfuz Alam's sharp attack on Sheikh Hasina

The ceremony held in Tejgaon area was organized by human rights group 'Mayor Dak'. According to the state news agency BSS, on this occasion Mahfuz Alam made serious allegations against Sheikh Hasina, saying that she forcibly disappeared and killed hundreds of people during her reign to avenge the murder of her parents.

He also said that political instability has increased in Bangladesh due to Hasina's policies, and that is why her supporters had to flee the country to save their lives. After this claim, there has been a stir in Bangladesh politics.

Sheikh Hasina's reaction

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently held a virtual dialogue with the widows of policemen whose husbands were killed in attacks by protesters. During this dialogue, she strongly condemned the increasing terrorist activities in Bangladesh and accused Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, saying that he had turned the country into a terrorist state.

Hasina also promised that all possible assistance would be given to the victim families and strict legal action would be taken against the culprits.

Current situation in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is currently going through a major political crisis. There is an atmosphere of instability in the country due to inflation, unemployment and growing discontent against the government. Hasina criticized the current government, saying that it is not a democratically elected government and it does not care about the public. He also alleged that the main objective of the current administration is to suppress the voice of the liberation struggle and its supporters.

It is worth noting that in August this year, Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country and come to India due to large-scale anti-government protests in Bangladesh. Now the new claims of Mahfuz Alam have made this political development more complicated.
