Rahul Gandhi PM candidate: Opposition's attack against BJP continues. Due to Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra, the demand to make Rahul Gandhi the PM candidate of the opposition has once again gained momentum. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday clarified that he has no problem with his ally Congress in the state insisting on making Rahul Gandhi its prime ministerial candidate in the next general elections. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, the JDU leader also reiterated that he was "not a contender" for the top post. Along with this, he reaffirmed his commitment to unite the parties opposing the BJP.

Nitish Kumar was responding to questions from reporters about former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's recent statement that Gandhi would be the "PM face of the opposition" in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath said on Friday that Rahul Gandhi will be the prime ministerial candidate of the opposition in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kamal Nath praised Gandhi for leading the nationwide Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress and said that he is doing politics not for power but for the common people of the country.

He said, "As far as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are concerned, Rahul Gandhi will not only be the face of the opposition, but will also be their prime ministerial candidate." He also said that no one in the history of the world has done such a long walk. The Congress leader said that apart from the Gandhi family, no other family has given so many sacrifices for the country. He said, "Rahul Gandhi does not do politics for power, but does it for the people of the country."
