Court seeks reply from Nawab Malik on defamation suit

The Bombay High Court on Monday directed Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik to file an affidavit in response to a defamation suit filed by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai regional unit director Sameer Wankhede's father Dhyandev Wankhede. Advocate Arshad Shaikh, appearing for Dhyandev, told the court that the respondent (by Malik) is giving some false and defamatory statement every day, which is then commented on social media which is even more derogatory. Sheikh argued, “This morning, the respondent made a tweet against the sister-in-law of Sameer Wankhede. ''

Through the suit, it has also been sought to direct Malik to withdraw all his defamatory statements so far and delete all his tweets posted against the plaintiff and his family members.
