Like every year, this year also the Jagannath Yatra was being taken out in Puri, Odisha on Sunday. All the preparations for the Rath Yatra were already completed. The Rath Yatra was started with worship and rituals in the morning. This year also lakhs of people from the country and the world had reached to participate in the Rath Yatra. A large number of devotees gathered around the three chariots in a race to pull the chariot. Late in the evening, Lord Jagannath's Nandighosha chariot was being pulled. During this, a stampede broke out and about 400 people were injured. It is being told that a devotee died of suffocation after coming under the chariot of Balabhadra ji.

Devotee admitted in hospital

The injured devotees have been rushed to the hospital. According to the information that has come out, more than 50 devotees have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. The devotee who died due to suffocation is said to be from outside Odisha.

The accident happened while pulling Balabhadra's chariot

The accident happened while pulling Lord Balabhadra's chariot in Puri Rath Yatra. During this, a person fell on the ground. The devotee died due to falling on the ground. During this, 15 people were injured due to a mild stampede. This time Lord Jagannath will reach his aunt's house in two days with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra. According to the belief, the Lord eats many types of dishes here, due to which his health deteriorates. Puri's Rath Yatra has religious significance. It is believed that participating in this Rath Yatra gives virtue equivalent to performing 100 yagnas. Due to this, a large number of devotees participate in this Rath Yatra.

There is a belief of pulling the chariot

This accident happened on Baba Danda Road in Puri, where Rath Yatra is organized every year. During the Rath Yatra, there is a belief among the devotees to pull the chariot forward, due to which more and more people try to pull the chariot. During the gathering of lakhs of people and pulling the chariot, a stampede situation arose and many people suffocated, due to which people's health deteriorated.

God woke up 2 hours earlier

According to the belief, God becomes ill after bathing on Snan Purnima. This year also, God has recovered after Snan Purnima. The rituals before the start of Rath Yatra are being done on Sunday itself. Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra sat in their respective chariots at 2.30 pm. Dr. Jyoti Prasad, the almanac maker of Jagannath Temple, said that the Lord was woken up 2 hours earlier than usual and Mangala Aarti took place at 2 am instead of 4 am. After Mangala Aarti, Dashavatara Puja was performed at around 2.30 pm. Naitrotsav was celebrated at 3 pm and Puja was performed by the King of Puri at 4 pm. Surya Puja was performed at 5.10 am and Dwarpal Puja was performed at around 5.30 am. Khichdi Bhog-Prasad was offered to the Lord at 7 am.
