Forensic team reached Jahangirpuri

The team will collect forensic evidence from here. The forensic team is investigating the mosque and its surrounding streets and the roofs from which stones were pelted are also being investigated.

21 arrested including one who opened fire in Delhi violence

The police arrested 21 people, including the main accused Ansar, in the violence that broke out after stone pelting on the procession of Hanuman Jayanti in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on Saturday. Apart from these, 2 minors have also been arrested. About 21 people are being taken into custody and interrogated. The police on Sunday produced 14 accused in the court, from where 12 were sent to jail, while Ansar and Aslam, accused of firing, are in one-day police custody. The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent five more companies of CRPF and RAF to the area as a precaution. Delhi Police has handed over the investigation of the case to the Crime Branch.

9 people including eight jawans were injured

North-West District Deputy Commissioner of Police Usha Rangnani said that nine people, including eight police personnel, were injured during the violence. One of them was shot in the hand of SI. Some new videos surfaced on Sunday, on the basis of which investigation is being done. They are trying to calm the atmosphere by talking to the peace committees of the area. Special Commissioner of Delhi Police Deepender Pathak (Law and Order) remained on the spot throughout the day on Sunday. He said that the situation is under control. Things got worse after an argument with the people involved in the procession

In the meantime, shots were fired. When the situation worsened, the police dispersed the crowd by using tear gas shells. The crowd created a ruckus for about 45 minutes to an hour.

In every district, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and senior police officers are holding meetings with the peace committees and appealing to the people to maintain peace and not to pay heed to rumours. The people of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind also reached Jahangirpuri and met the people and appealed to maintain peace.

The police arrested Jahid (22), Ansar (35), Shahzad (33), Mukhtiar Ali (28), Amir (22), Aksar (26), Noor Alam (28), Mohammad Aslam (22), Zakir (22), residents of Jahangirpuri. ), Akram (22), Imtiaz (29), Mohammad Al (27), Ahir (35), Mohammad Ali Sekh (22), Sheikh Saurabh (42), Suqin's sons Suraj (21) and Neeraj (19), Suqin (45), Suresh (43) and Sujit Sarkar (28) have been arrested. Two minors have also been arrested. Four of the arrested accused belong to the same family. The police have arrested Aslam and one of the accused along with the pistol. All the accused are residents of different blocks of Jahangirpuri. A case of rioting, obstruction of government work, assault in the line of duty, assault, arson, murderous assault, criminal conspiracy and Arms Act has been registered against the accused.
