The groom slaps the bride's face

According to media reports, during the wedding ceremony in Tamil Nadu, a groom allegedly slapped the bride's face, after which the bride canceled the wedding. The bride called off the wedding, hours after she was publicly humiliated during a dance at Panruti's graduation ceremony. Then she went to marry a relative on the same date and time, just 7 km away from the wedding venue.

The groom's family demanded a compensation of Rs 7 lakh

Following the incident, the groom lodged a complaint with the Panruti Mahila police station, demanding compensation of Rs 7 lakhs spent by his family for arranging the marriage. Police said that a graduate bride and the groom, a senior engineer from Chennai, were formally engaged on November 6. The bride and groom and their families were dancing on the dance floor on the wedding day on January 20. The bride and groom were happily dancing to the tunes of the DJ, until the bride's cousin joined the dance floor.

The groom was very angry on this

After a while, the cousin came between the couple and placed his arms on the couple's shoulders. This enraged the groom, due to which the cousin and the bride were pushed. The woman married her cousin the same day, who hails from Gingee town in Viluppuram district. Meanwhile, the groom told the police that the bride's parents and relatives accused him of misbehavior and that they assaulted him.
