Amarnath Cloudburst: BJP MLA from Telangana T. Raja. Singh is now unable to forget the moment when there was panic after a sudden cloudburst near the holy Amarnath cave in south Kashmir on Friday. 13 people died in this accident. The scene is still roaming in front of his eyes in which people are running from here to there to save their lives. T. Raja Singh was also there at the time of the accident. He narrowly escaped in this accident. He told the media during the conversation on Friday night that there was a scary scene.

Clouds bursting as seen from the hills

Raja Singh had reached Amarnath by helicopter. His family was also with him. When the weather suddenly deteriorated, Raja Singh and his family members decided to use mules to descend from the hills. Raja Singh told that, 'We realized that the weather has suddenly changed and got worse. The helicopter service would have been canceled in those circumstances, so we decided to land on the hills using mules. I saw a cloudburst about a kilometer below the hills. Many tents were washed away in the flood.

Many people are still trapped

Raja Singh told that, being an MLA, I had got special security. So the army helped the family to reach Srinagar. He said that of course I have come out, but many people from different states including Telangana are still trapped there. According to Singh, thousands of devotees were present at the Amarnath cave for darshan on Friday.

Said to have flown at least 50 people

Singh said, “Water was flowing from the hills and entered some of the tents. I estimate that at least 50 people were washed away in the flood. The army was doing a great job in the Amarnath cave. But they were helpless in such conditions and it was dark too. An official who was present at the scene on Friday said that around 40 people are missing while five have been rescued. An administration official said that the Amarnath Yatra, which began on June 30, has been postponed for the time being after this tragedy and a decision will be taken to resume it after the rescue operation is over.
