A lawyer by profession, Beshear won the election in 2015 while being the state's Attorney General. After this, he defeated Trump-backed Republican Governor Matt Bevin in 2019. The second name is of Roy Cooper. North Carolina Governor Cooper has won the state elections six times in two decades. North Carolina is a state where the Republican Party is in power and the party has been winning elections here. Cooper (67) is very popular as a governor. His administration and lawmakers are credited with the state's rapidly growing economy. He has also presented himself as a voice for public education and abortion rights. Cooper was appointed Attorney General in 2000, a position he held for 16 years.

Mark Kelly's name has also emerged as the third potential candidate for Kamala Harris's running mate. The Arizona senator, after starting his career as an astronaut, made his mark as a liberal in a state that has long supported Republicans. Kelly was a Navy pilot and flew 39 fighter planes during the Gulf War before working at NASA. The fourth candidate is Josh Shapiro. Shapiro's term as Pennsylvania Governor is about to complete two years.

He won the last election by easily defeating a far-right candidate backed by Trump. He has been a supporter of Biden. He has also supported Biden on TV channels. First as the state's attorney general and now as governor, he has been attacking former President Donald Trump.
