However, railways is adding new services to make travel more comfortable.One of those services is Destination Alert. The service is designed to help night travelers stay alert before they reach their destination. As a part of the service, users will receive an SMS and reminder call 20 minutes before their designated station.Follow our step by step guide to learn how to set up destination alerts on your train journey. Keep in mind that this facility is available only in long journey trains and is only available from 10 PM to 7 AM in the night.Call 139 from the mobile on which you want to set the destination alert.
Now select your languageNow here you have to select option 7 in the IVR menu.After this, you have to press 2 for the destination alert.After this, you will have to enter your 10 digit PNR, after that confirm by pressing 1.Once done, the destination alert will be enabled for your journey and you will get a confirmation SMS for the same.Open SMS app on your mobile and type. Alert and send to 139 that's it! Your destination alert has been set up for the trip.Keep in mind that call/SMS from the number on which you want the destination alert. Also, you will be charged for calling or sending SMS to 139.
