Indian army News: The strength of the Indian Army is going to increase further. The Indian Army is now moving forward taking advantage of more state-of-the-art technology. In this series, now the Defense Ministry of India has taken a big and historic decision. The ministry has entered into a deal with ISRO to provide advanced communication satellite facility for the military. The Ministry of Defense has signed a 3000 crore contract with NewSpace India Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), for this advanced facility. India's Defense Acquisition Council had approved the Army's proposal for the satellite in March 2022 to ramp up its operational capabilities.ISRO will develop satelliteISRO will develop advanced satellite for the Indian Army. At present, both the Air Force and the Navy have their own satellite facilities. Now the Indian Army is also going to get this facility. According to the Defense Ministry, this geostationary satellite is the first of its kind in the 5 ton category. With its help this communication facility is being developed to provide control above line of sight communication for troops and structures as well as weapons and air platforms.This geostationary satellite is equipped with advanced security features that will meet the tactical communication requirements of ground troops. It will also help strengthen remotely piloted aircraft, air defense weapons and other critical mission platforms. The Indian Army is likely to get this satellite facility by the year 2026. This satellite system will strengthen the network centric warfare capabilities of the Army. Director General of Vayu Shakti Adhyayan Kendra, Air Marshal Anil Chopra told that till now the army was dependent on the G-Set 7A satellite of the Air Force. The Indian Army has done a detailed study of cyber and electromagnetic warfare in the Russia-Ukraine war, which has revealed the need to establish a reliable satellite communication system. Along with this, high speed internet services can also be provided in remote areas.Satellite will be developed indigenouslyThe Defense Ministry informed that the equipment required for the development of the satellite will be manufactured indigenously. For this, the help of micro, small and medium enterprises and startups will be taken.
