Bengal Bjp Protest: The political atmosphere in West Bengal is once again heated. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Suvendu Adhikari has opened a front against Mamata Banerjee's government. Adhikari has announced that about 2,000 rallies will be organized in the state on the occasion of Ram Navami this year, in which 1 crore Hindus will participate. Also, he appealed to the organizers not to seek permission from the administration, which has intensified the political controversy.

Adhikari's big statement regarding Ram Navami rallies

Suvendu Adhikari said during an event in his constituency Nandigram on Friday that "we do not need any permission to pray to Lord Ram." He claimed that last year about 50,000 Hindus participated in 1,000 Ram Navami rallies, while this year the number will double. Adhikari says that it is the duty of the administration to ensure that all rallies remain peaceful and no untoward incident takes place.

Political turmoil intensifies

After this statement of Adhikari, West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and other opposition parties have attacked him fiercely. West Bengal minister and senior TMC leader Firhad Hakim said that the people of the state will not be influenced by the rhetoric of leaders like Suvendu Adhikari. He said, "People in the land of Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Sri Chaitanya and Rabindranath Tagore cannot be influenced by radical statements. Those who want to take out Ram Navami rallies will do so, they do not need instructions from Adhikari for this."

Opposition parties counterattack

At the same time, Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) leader Sujan Chakraborty attacked Adhikari sharply. He said that Adhikari is not the guardian of Hinduism in West Bengal and Ram Navami has never been a festival celebrated on a large scale in the state. He also alleged that both BJP and TMC have tried to use this festival politically.

Announcement of construction of Ram temple

Suvendu Adhikari made another big announcement on this occasion, saying that a grand Ram temple will be built in his constituency Sonachura by the end of this year. It is clear from his statement that the BJP is trying to further sharpen its politics by centering religious and cultural issues in the state.

Conclusion

The politics of West Bengal has come to a boil over Ram Navami. The rhetoric between BJP, TMC and CPI(M) continues, making it clear that this issue will further heat up the political atmosphere in the state in the times to come. Now it remains to be seen how the administration handles this situation and whether these Ram Navami rallies are able to be held peacefully or not.
