Republic Day Parade: Jharkhand will pay tribute to the late industrialist Ratan Tata through its special tableau in the parade to be held on the Kartavya Path in the capital Delhi on Republic Day this year. Ratan Tata, who played an important role in the development of Jamshedpur, the country's first steel city, will be given this honor by the state. Jharkhand will be among the 15 states and union territories that will display their tableaux as an exhibition of their cultural and historical heritage in the national capital on January 26.Special focus on women empowermentAccording to a statement issued by the Jharkhand government, this year's tableau will showcase the rich cultural heritage, diversity and developmental progress of the state. In particular, the state's tableau will also highlight the growing empowerment of women. Efforts made by the state towards making women self-reliant through traditional dance and education will also be presented in this tableau.A new dimension of Jharkhand's tableau as compared to previous yearsIn the tableaux of previous years, emphasis was laid on various aspects related to the identity of the state. For example, last year Jharkhand's tableau showcased the state's famous Tussar silk, while 2023's depicted the Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar. This time, apart from Ratan Tata's tribute, the tableau will also prominently showcase the state's success towards women's empowerment.Ratan Tata's contribution to Jharkhand's developmentRatan Tata's contribution to Jharkhand's industrial and economic development was incomparable. When Jharkhand came into existence as a state in 2000, Jamshedpur had already become an important city from an industrial point of view. Ratan Tata visited Jamshedpur in 1963, when he saw the working structure of Tata Steel. His efforts proved to be helpful in accelerating the industrial development of the city as well as getting it recognition at the global level. Ratan Tata's vision not only established Jamshedpur as an industrial hub, but the city has become a symbol of international identity today. After the demise of Ratan Tata, his contributions are still alive and his memories are alive in the hearts of people in Jharkhand.Tableau selection and rehearsalJharkhand's tableau has received a lot of appreciation during the selection process. The central government had invited proposals from all the states and union territories for the Republic Day parade, in which Jharkhand's tableau found a place in the final 15 participants. Now the Jharkhand authorities have been given time till January 19, 2025 to complete their tableau, while the full rehearsal will be held on January 23.Jharkhand's tableau in this year's Republic Day celebrations will not only present the historical and cultural heritage of the state, but will also pay tribute to Ratan Tata's contribution as well as highlight the direction of development of the state. This will be a historic occasion when the people of Jharkhand and the nation will remember him in a respectful manner.
