What's Special This Time?
The biggest highlight of WPL 2025 is its venues. In the first season, the entire tournament was held at a single location, while the second season featured matches across two cities. This time, for the first time ever, the tournament will be played across four different venues.
- The tournament will begin in Vadodara, where the first six matches will be played.
- The next eight matches will take place in Bangalore.
- The final stage will see four matches each in Lucknow and Mumbai.
- The final match will be held in Mumbai on March 15, while the Eliminator match will be played on March 13.
Teams, Format & Rules
This year, WPL will once again feature five teams:
- Royal Challengers Bangalore (Captain: Smriti Mandhana)
- Gujarat Giants (Captain: Ashleigh Gardner)
- Mumbai Indians (Captain: Harmanpreet Kaur)
- Delhi Capitals (Captain: Meg Lanning)
- UP Warriorz (Captain: Deepti Sharma)
A total of 22 matches will be played. Each team will play twice against every other team in the group stage. The team finishing at the top of the points table will directly qualify for the final, while the second and third-placed teams will face off in the Eliminator to secure a spot in the final.
Prize Money
Similar to last season, the winning team will receive ₹6 crore, while the runner-up will be awarded ₹3 crore. The Orange Cap (top run-scorer) and Purple Cap (top wicket-taker) winners will each get ₹5 lakh, while the Player of the Match in the final will receive ₹2.5 lakh. The BCCI has not yet announced any changes to the prize money.

The tournament will be televised live on the Sports 18 Network at 7:30 PM (IST). For mobile and online viewers, free live streaming of all matches will be available on Jio Cinema.
